ONSET OF Mn MOMENT IN RMn2 COMPOUNDS

Abstract
Electronic structures of d-electrons in heavy rare-earth R and manganese compounds RMn2 with the cubic Laves phase structure are calculated in the tight-binding approximation. A possibility of the two magnetic states on Mn atom is discussed by taking into account the change in the lattice constant.
