Abstract
The C K-emission bands of graphite intercalated with potassium, AlCl3, InCl3, BiCl3, SbCl5, and SbF5 were measured at take-off angles 20° and 80° and decomposed into the constituent π- and σ-subbands. The comparison of the π- and σ-bands of C8K and AlCl3-GICs with UPS results allowed to determine sign and quantity of the Fermi level shift relative to pure graphite. We discuss preparation-induced distortions of acceptor GICs showing up in C K- and Cl L2,3- emission bands and XPS core level spectra.
