Abstract
A modified participant-spectator model is discussed, suitable to study medium energy heavy-ion collisions . Phase-space constraints and one-body dissipation terms imply noticeable modifications in the high energy fireball model. The statistical compound decay theory is used to calculate pion and gamma evaporation from the hot source.
