Abstract
Internal friction in Ba has been measured in longitudinal resonance at about 14 kHz in the temperature range between 10 K and 300 K. There exist two peaks around 37 K and 223 K resp. which are tentatively identified as α-peak and γ -peak with an activation energy of Hγ = 0.38 eV and Hα = 0.047 eV.
