Abstract
We report on measurements of the thermal diffuse X-ray scattering from single crystalline Na. Data were taken with the momentum transfer being aligned along the (100), (110) and (111) directions as a function of temperature. They are discussed in terms of one, two and higher multi-phonon contributions. In addition, a part asymmetric with respect to a reciprocal lattice vector is determined and analyzed.
