RENORMALIZED RESPONSE THEORY WITH APPLICATIONS TO PHONON ANOMALIES

Abstract
A recently developed renormalization method for the electron response problem in effective ion-interactions is applied to phonon anomalies. A microscopic mechanism for the anomalies is proposed and its relation to the electron-phonon-coupling parameter λ and thus to Tc is discussed.
