Abstract
The plasma investigated was produced by 1 J, 40 ns, ruby laser pulses focused onto a thin polyethylene foil. Contrary to a smooth time variation of the laser pulses, in the scattered-and emittes-radiation there were observed very distinct spikes. An explanation of that effect has been proposed.
