STRUCTURE DES CRISTAUX LIQUIDES SMECTIQUES B

Résumé
On compare la structure du cristal et celle de la phase smectique B du TBBA. Lors du passage de la première phase à la seconde, les corrélations subsistent dans une file de molécules alors que la mise en rotation de molécules autour de leur axe d'allongement modifie l'ordre dans les autres directions.
Abstract
Structure of crystalline and smectic B phases of TBBA are compared. The correlation along a chain of molecules are the same in the two phases whereas the rotation of molecules around their long axes induce a change of the molecular packing in the other directions.
