CROSS-CORRELATION FUNCTIONS OF THE FE FLUCTUATIONS FOR POTASSIUM ON W(112)

Abstract
Cross-correlation functions (CCFs) of field emission fluctuations for the adsorption system W(112)K have been measured at various distances between the probe regions and at various temperatures. The experimental CCFs are fitted by an expression which describes the diffusive decay of concentration fluctuations. It is shown that the latter also gives the distance dependence and that it can be used for an approximate determination of surface diffusion coefficients.
