Résumé
A derivation of ARPEFS (Angular Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy Fine Structure) which generalizes that based on the plane-wave approximation is reviewed. Spherical wave corrections in the theory are approximated using asymptotic expansions for the one-particle propagators. Single scattering terms are treated exactly in terms of a distance dependent, effective scattering amplitude, [MATH] (θ, [MATH]). This spherical wave approximation (SWA) explains observed corrections to the plane-wave approximation and is found to be in good agreement with the full single scattering spherical wave treatment. The relation between this theory and XAFS (X-ray absorption fine structure) is discussed using a generalized optical theorem.
