Abstract
The field corrosion effect of nitrogen on tungsten, molybdenum and rhenium was studied to evaluate its effect on the tip shape and size and its crystallographic and chemical specificity. The promotion effect of hydrogen on this corrosion was also studied for comparision. In the case of molybdenum, hydrogen showed a distinct promotion effect.
