Abstract
G. P. zones in an Al-1.7at% Cu alloy were investigated on an atomic scale using the high-power ToF atom-probe. The Cu concentration of the multi-layer zones was found to be in a range of 25 to 45at%, contrary to general belief that they consist of 100% pure Cu atoms.
