ROLE OF ELECTRON CORRELATIONS AND MAGNETISM IN THE STABILITY OF Re DIMERS ON W(110)

Abstract
We study the importance of electron correlations and magnetism in the stability of Re dimers on W(110) surface. It is found that the magnetism of monomers is the principal reason for the instability of Re2 and that both monomer and dimer are magnetic.
