Abstract
We measured the a-c temperature variation of the optical linear birefringence of mixed K2CuxMn1-xF4 single crystals for several values of x (0 < x < 1). It may be expressed as a combination of static two spin correlation functions for Cu-Cu, Mn-Mn and Cu-Mn pairs of ions. We deduce the Cu-Mn exchange integral J(Cu - Mn) ≈ -43 cm-1.
