Abstract
The magnetic structure of the amorphous ferromagnet, Fe83B17, has been studied by using polarised neutron scattering with the IN20 spectrometer at ILL. The results show that in the ferromagnetic state the spins are not wholly aligned along the magnetic field direction, but that there is considerable randomness in the spin directions. It is suggested that this is due to the random orientations of the local crystal fields.
