EFFECT OF LOADING RATE ON UPPER SHELF CRACK RESISTANCE OF STRUCTURAL STEELS WITH DIFFERENT YIELD STRENGTH AND MICROSTRUCTURE

Résumé
On étudie l'influence de la vitesse de chargement sur les courbes JRa de différents aciers ayant des seuils d'écoulement compris entre 170 et 550 MPa. La longueur de fissure a été déterminée par la méthode des courbes maitresses qui est basée sur l'analyse des relations chargement-deplacement. Les valeurs J1 ont été obtenues par des mesures de la zone d'émoussement. L'influence de la vitesse de chargement est discutée en terme de J1 et dJ/da, en prenant en compte le mécanisme de rupture.


Abstract
The influence of loading rate on JRa-curves of different steels with yield strengths between 170 and 550 MPa were investigated. The crack length was determined by the key curve method, which is based on the analysis of loaddisplacement relationship. Ji values were derived from "stretched-zone" measurements. The influence of loading rate is discussed by means of J1 and dJ/da, taking fracture mechanism into account.
