Abstract
We give a prescription for use of relativistic S-matrix calculations in the prediction of x-ray scattering near the K-shell photoionization threshold. The energy scale is shifted so that the threshold energy agrees with experiment. Predictions for forwardangle scattering are in agreement with those from photoeffect data and dispersion relations, once the latter utilize more nearly correct relativistic results for the forward-angle high-energy limit. Under the same conditions, agreement is obtained for scattering at finite angles, when the anomalous amplitudes are taken as angle independent in the dispersion-relation-based approach.
