THE IMPACT OF X-RAY ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY ON BIOLOGY

Abstract
X-ray absorption spectroscopy is ideally suited to probe the immediate environment of specific atoms in biological systems. Selective archievements of the last decade are reviewed, with particular reference to metalloenzymes and challenges for future applications and development are considered.
