Abstract
A characterization of the various kinds of acoustical effects associated with phase transformations is presented. Some previous theoretical approaches and experimental results concerning diffusion - assisted processes are briefly outlined, mainly for the purpose of illustrating the contributions given to this subject by the present conference.
