TESTS OF CRITERIA FOR THE EXISTENCE OF COLLECTIVE EXCITATIONS IN LIQUID METALS

Abstract
Collective density fluctuations have been observed in liquid lead by thermal neutron scattering experiments. Comparisons are made with observations in other liquids and some criteria are tested. The influence of the effective pair potential is also discussed.
