CRISTAUX LIQUIDES A NOYAUX AROMATIQUES PERFLUORÉS

Résumé
Trois nouvelles familles de cristaux liquides à noyaux aromatiques perfluorés ont été synthétisées : les tétrafluorotéréphtalates de bis 4-n-alkylphényl, les tétrafluorotéréphtalates de bis 4-n-alkyl tétrafluorophényl et les alkyl-4 ou alkoxy-4 benzoate de cyano-4 tétrafluorophényl. Une première approche de l'effet sur les propriétés mésomorphes de la substitution des hydrogènes du noyau aromatique par des fluors est ensuite discutée.
Abstract
Three series of perfluoroaromatic liquid crystals have been synthesized : the bis 4-n-alkylphenyl tetrafluoroterephtalates, the bis 4-n-alkyltetrafluorophenyl tetrafluoroterephtalates and the (4-cyanotetrafluorophenyl) 4-n-alkyl-or alkoxy-benzoates. We discuss the effect, on the mesomorphic properties, of the substitution of the hydrogens of the aromatic ring by fluorine.
