MÖSSBAUER STUDY OF YTTERBIUM ETHYLSULPHATE

Résumé
Les paramètres hyperfins et le taux de relaxation de Yb3+ dans YbES ont été déduits des spectres Mössbauer entre 1,3 et 30 K. Les facteurs d'écran R 0,24 et σ2 0,61 ont été tirés des expériences. La variation thermique du taux de relaxation, observée entre 8 et 25 K, montre l'existence d'un terme exponentiel supplémentaire s'ajoutant aux processus Orbach et Raman antérieurement observés, et qui est attribué à un mode optique de phonons.


Abstract
The hf parameters and the relaxation rate of Yb3+ in YbES are deduced from the 170Yb Mössbauer spectra between 1.3 and 30 K. The shielding factors R 0.24 and σ2 0.61 are derived from the experiments. The thermal variation of the relaxation rate observed between 8 and 25 K shows an additional exponential term to the previously observed Orbach and Raman processes, which is attributed to an optical mode of phonons.
